Important Information regarding Covid-19 from CICA CEO Brandon Hitch

The COVID-19 pandemic is having an impact on families and businesses in numerous and unexpected ways and it is important at this time that we all do what we can to slow the virus.

CICA’s Vision is a safe and progressive crane industry and with an outbreak like COVID-19, this extends to beyond the workplace.

Please see attached this commentary from SafeWork Australia on PCBU responsibilities when considering actions your company should take in response to COVID-19.

Tadano Oceania have also referenced a report from McKinsey and Co. on the current impact of COVID-19.

How you respond to this will need to be unique to your company’s circumstances and the state and federal policies that are currently evolving.

With the dynamic nature of this matter, websites are the most expedient way of accessing up-to-date information.

I have asked all CICA staff to restrict domestic travel as much as possible. With the amount of time spent in airports and in meetings, CICA staff members could be at risk of contracting  COVID-19, but could also, unwittingly, become a carrier of the virus interstate to members. We are seeing government agencies (NHVR, TMR, TfNSW) also restrict face-to-face meetings and this will limit their presence at any of our member meetings over the coming months.

We are still available to assist wherever possible, and will continue to monitor this situation closely.

I wish you and your family safety during this time.

Sincerely,

Brandon Hitch

CICA Chief Executive Officer
