In the next five years NSW will have more road and maritime projects than any other state.
Sydney’s population boom will intensify the need for supporting infrastructure and by 2031 greater Western Sydney will be home to over half of Sydney’s population. Targeted investment in the state’s road and maritime network will improve safety on our roads and the overall travel experience for the people of NSW.
Roads and Maritime Services has an ambitious task ahead to deliver the single largest series of infrastructure investments in the state’s history. This includes a multi-billion budget to transform the state’s roads, freight and maritime networks over the next five years. The major infrastructure projects will be delivered by five dedicated program offices: Easing Sydney's Congestion, Greater Sydney, Freight and Regional, Pacific Highway and Western Sydney.
